We are wondering where our next move should take us, but having grown up in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, I will always have fond memories of my childhood, and starting our family here. Look at that view! It’s a beautiful wee city.

These are our local woods, where my children have grown up. All their lives we’ve built dens, hung rope swings, walked and talked here. Each year when its bluebell carpet returns it is the venue for the grown up family to get back together for our first picnic of the year.

I run here regularly and although it’s close to the city of Leeds you feel a million miles away from civilisation as its numerous paths and size means you rarely see a soul. This day we were treated to getting high above a cloud inversion, running in brilliant sunshine in November!

Once you’ve done enough running you can sample the many pubs and tearooms in Ilkley for Sunday lunch or cake - the Cow and Calf pub close to here is a great spot.

Brixham is a very special place to me because, 13 years ago when I came to stay for 3 weeks as an Au-pair, I never thought that I will be so lucky to stay here forever. 13 yeas later, I am happily married with two little ones and very often we, as a family, go for long walks down to marina where I took this beautiful photo.

Born in Brighton, I spent my formative years in the town (as it was then) and still consider it to be my home, despite having lived away for 30 years. My family still lives locally so I get back a couple of times a year, and when I drive down the seafront (past the “flexible beach huts in Hove! 😉 ), past the now wrecked West Pier, towards the Palace Pier, memories flood back of a very happy child and young adulthood.

We spend a family holiday on Anglesey every year, all 8 of us, and 3 generations. It’s a time for us “oldies” to enjoy our grandchildren whilst we still can. Exploring rock pools is one of our favourite pastimes….whatever the weather and I just wish it could be our real home.
